[http://stephentgs.blogspot.com/2012/02/get-grip.html"]my Hercules grip review]

Hi SkimMilk

After ur review i saw this info from sgcamerastore itself
Please kindly note:

1) Please do not charge this battery by original charger, which will ruin this battery.
2) There is no capacity display on camera screen when using this battery, but it can work.
3) It must be charged by the compatible charger.

Would u be doing the same way as in charging separately ur batteries ?

actually the description is for battery, not battery grip. besides, I find SGCameraStore forum section more resourceful than the website itself. Website has all sorts of mistakes and isn't up-to-date. In fact, it's best to head down to the store and test the equipment yourself.

D7000 - movie mode

I hear chucking sound recorded in movie mode, it's the auto-focus mechanism.

is there any noise cancellation available ? It's annoying. Or I use manual mode , that is not cool.

Get a stereo external mic to avoid recording down the auto focus mechanism sound. The sound that that D7000 record directly is mono hence getting a stereo external mic improves the sound quality and solves your problem in the same time.

Thanks, any idea on the price for Nikon and third party ?

there's no way you can charge your batteries on the grip, so there's no concern here.
The grip does not come with batteries. You will still have to use your battery charger to charge your batteries.

As for 2), I have no idea how true that is. But if I were to get a grip that does not display it, I will return the grip. It should display the charge left if you go to battery info.

270++ for Nikon and 120 for third party I think

Thanks !

Just wondering if it is too difficult to put a stereo mic in camera itself. Poor Nikon.

I bet it will increase the production costs

Yeah and with the placing..i once accidentally covered the mic with my own thumb without knowing it.. Dang. Came out all muffled. External mic the way to go.. cheap shotgun mic will do.

Hi,

Just upgraded my jurassic D50 to D7k. I'm so loving it! =)

Hi there, can I know your lens collection :-)
Thinking of getting a 35mm 1.8g, but I hear bokeh is average, sigma 30mm 1.4 has good bokeh but expensive, 50mm has good bokeh but less FoV. Confused.

I need good bokeh and sharpness .

Not sure if D7k is the best thread to get answers for this question. Btw, I tried both 35F1.8G and 50F1.8G. In term of sharpness and bokeh, I prefer 50F1.8G. While I am happy to have traded my 35 for 50, I am also aware many others would be glad to keep 35 for its wider view and usability :)

I suspect 85 will have better bokeh than 50, but the view is too narrow for me.

Btw u may also google on prime lens 35 and 50, there are ample resources and reviews out there, that may help.

Go test them lenses out and you'd know which you prefer. I used both lenses extensively and never regretted my choice - the Nikon.

There are plenty of others who love the Sigma, for good reason too.

There are ample threads discussing the merits of both lenses. After reading them, just go ahead, try the lenses, and trust yourself.

"try the lenses" -- do you mean trying them out at the shops at funan, will they allow ? Are those shoppys kinda cranky or friendly. Obligation to buy ?

Thanks very much.
