I've switched to Lexar for awhile and it appears to be more reliable for me. sandisk gave me errors once or twice so far. it seems to have errors only during heavy shooting for me as i got the errors after consistent shooting of hundreds of RAWs a day on the same card.

afterall SD cards and the in-camera card read/writer are cheap parts (sd card read/writers cost 5-10 bucks these days, sd cards are given for free with cameras)
if a reinsert fixes it i think its within acceptable performance... can't expect it to perform flawlessly like a 150,000 actuation rated shutter :bsmilie:

icic.. am thinking shld get original or 3rd party one..

Hmm actually it's up to you, for me I don't really need the weather thingy. so I just get the 3rd party 1 which much cheaper...

If I'm not wrong hercules bg for d7000 having sales now ^^ lower than $100

Maybe you can go take a look and have a feel of the 3rd party bg and original bg...

i guess to play safe, always get original one bahh. But i do admit it's expensive..got mine for 232 half a year ago..still ex. zzz. At least dun have to worry abt weather sealing/ dial stuff + 1yr warranty (dun tink so easily spoil oso)

Yup, it's really overpriced!!!
Not sure of jb's current price.

I did a search on eBay n saw quite a few fakes (Nikon box, but these guys not honest, didn't mentioned its a duplicate except for one or two of them) going for 60+ sgd.

saw one oem from hk selling 55sgd, 1 yr warranty. Maybe can give that grip a try?

All prices quoted with free delivery worldwide.

Btw, Neeway on amazon are selling meike grips. In my opinion, meike is the manufacturer of all 3rd party grips (just re-branding accordingly?) but I can't say for Phottix or Hercules.

Fake one is easy to spot. The "texture" on the rubber is not same as body..

I bought and away.. Cos it add so much size to the body..

got a question though, I bought a battery grip about a half a year back and seems legit, interior is metal, rubber fabric is same as the material used on the DSLR body itself, and the dials are not reversed. However, it seems the dials are a bit harder to turn than the dials on the body, and seem to be plasticky unlike the dials on the body which feels more like plastic with rubber coating. Anyone with an OEM grip experiencing something similar?

Wondering: are there no stocks of the D7000 island-wide now? Just called two shops (going to call a few more maybe) and neither have stocks for it at the moment, with one shop even saying there are no units left islandwide.

Coz of what happened in Japan and Thailand. Nikon products are running short now, not just the D7000

Yep that would make sense... I hope they recover soon. I wonder if there will still be some D7000 on stock on the next IT show. My friend was able to procure his cam on the last IT show in expo, but even then, stocks arent as high as they were during the first quarter last year. I remember when I first got my D7000, that same day came the tsunami disaster in japan. Really unfortunate incident.

There's a huge shortage. in the US, Amazon has none at all, Adorama increased it to a whopping US$1,349 and B&H at US$1,299.00. None of them have stock.
Jessops in the UK is selling at £949.95. thats about 1900SGD.
Locally, like you said, nearly none left islandwide.

worldwide shortage and price hikes!
