maybe you can share...
then ask if its better to get another lens of its equilvanet (maybe more expensive than what you are eyeying now)...
rather than change body...
cos buying better lens is better than buying a old school AF-D on a new DSLR...
that is how i feels...

Some of them "old school" lenses are the best ever made.

Im currently using D3100. As i have read abt reviews on D7000, seem like its not a bad choice. (D3100 is also good btw )

Getting a D7000, and i could get an AF-D len ;p as its cheaper. Pardon me if im wrong =p

But after much research, with the new AF-S 50mm 1.8G been not so EX ;p

i think i will stick with D3100 ^^

oya is Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM Lens better or nikon AF-S 50mm 1.8G? and is getting len from DD Electronic a good deal?

Of course the Sigma 50/1.4 is better. And the price is much "better" too. DD electronics sell grey sets. So if you lens needs any calibration or warranty service, you have to bring it back to them, and not the authorized service center. You might get some issues there. But it is totally up to you, how much risk you can bear. And not all their stuff is cheap, please take note.

Depends on the coding on the lens, for Nikon lens, all DX lenses will have a DX marking on the lens. If the marking is not there then the lens is an FX lens.

I have bought my d7000 in early Jan. Everything went pretty well until just now.

I tried to take some indoor shots under quite well-lit condition. But, its mirror responded quite abnormally sluggishly in spite of shutter speed of 1/200sec or faster. And it frustrates me considerably.

Kindly shed some lights on solving this and hope would also be resolved by itself miraculously, in the interim, keep my fingers crossed. Be much grateful if any kind soul can render any helps

Which mode did you shoot in? And the sluggishness might be due to the lens hunting for focus.

Not only on the pocket, on many occasions, the performance is better too. Screw driven lenses can often focus faster and more accurate than some AF-S lenses

Yea, agree with ZCA, it sound like you don't think AF-D lenses are one of the "better" lenses

I got a afd zoom lens failed before too..
Super reliable will be those manual primes or afd non zoom..

I suggest u stick with the d3100..
unless the afd version got a replacement..
Otherwise it will still be the most expensive piece..
Sigma 50 f1.4 pic is better than 50 f1.4g from nikon..
My personal feeling.. Colors, contrast, bokeh.. All better than nikon..
But I dnt like 3rd party.. It is just me.. Price almost similar..
Ur own call to which to own.. Can rent to test.. Or borrow..

Makes u feels like shuttler is slow..

No need to spend big money, comparing prime to prime, my AF 50mm f1.8 focuses faster than my AF-S 35mm f1.8
