D700 vs D800

Why is everyone talking about high iso? For me it is never found D700 high iso a problem. If the D800 is better, even by a little bit, it is good enough for me.

I only need like ISO3200 the most.

What I sometimes find lacking in the D700 is

1) lack of video
2) not enough DR
3) AF can always be better as there are always missed focus shots.

I think the D800 improved on everyone of them
There are photographers who have to use high ISOs. Some even start at ISO 6400 and increase from there (concert photographers)

Exactly. What one need from a camera might not be the same for the other. If you really need the ISO king and has the dough, go straight for D3s or wait for D4. If not, the D700 can take a good beating till 6400 before image starts to break (to some people, they are still usable). The new D800 looks very promising given the higher MP it can produce at similar ISO as D700. If you can afford to wait, then wait for it.

I though Nikon was not going to face out D700 yet..??

Anyway, my view on D800 is the high MP range where I have a in built teleconverter without the degration of image quality and acceptable MP count. ISO to me not really important, as long as acceptable at 3200 am happy liao.

I can take wide landscape pictures to long range birding with just one camera.

I think regardless,

D700 will still remains a photographer's work horse.
