3050?? U mus be kidding..Price is very well controlled in places like CP,AP, MS,TK,OP...Last i check is still 3350.. 3050?? Unlikely, unless it's gray..

so can i say the same that the price might drop after the new release.
i want to change my 4/3 oly e-3 to a D700 but then the price..............
not enough even after i sell my equip.
so thought if the price drop maybe i'll wait till then but then oly coming new stuff my equip price will go down too =(

Max, mind sharing which shop it is? i was hunting for 1 and it was 3350.
this is good news. intending to upgrade if possible. =)

My 2 cents of advice.
Don't waste time calling up shop asking for best price. Probably Nikon, Canon, Oly, Sony and some of the Camera's marketers is doing as such to check out actual street pricing
If you sincere in buying and the shops knows you, you can get good price when you visit direct and deal face-to-face.
My main interest is: Anyone knows if D700 replacement is due? If it's going to be a cropped sensor like the 7D from Canon? Probably the D700 price will hold well! And I'll getting the D3S..........I simply hate the weight!!!

Why would Nikon want to replace the D700 with a cropped body? Do you see Canon replacing the 5D with a cropped body?
Not confirmed yet. Price drop is unavoidable. It's just a matter of time.
But if you need a camera now, why wait?
