D70-Which shop with best deal

D70 won't be affected by the new models released because the new models aren't in the same league as D70. :)

I agree. My main concern is the vertical grip. Cos I am used to using that. My current F90X's vert grip serves me well. It also provides a heavier weight which is more stable.
Now that D70 is abt 1yr old, so the latest batch should hv most of the field call problems solved.
Do you personally use D70? And if so, how is ur verdict?

Lords at Lucky Plaza 1st floor gives better price than CP or AP. I got mine 3 days ago.

how much u got from lucky plaza?

Other stuff I purchased with the D70:

For the CF card, Kingston at Eastgear is around 120$ for 1gig. I tested its speed is very very similar to Sandisk Ultra II which costs about 170$.

OEM battery (for backup, just in case...) costs about 35$.

Hoya HMC UV filter 35$.

Sigma 18-125 lens for D70 costs below 500$, if you prefer better zoom range.

are you satisfied with the results D70 is giving? Hey u got samples?

AFAIK we are not supposed to give the receipt information here, as my words should not be used as "official quote" for any shop.

Also I am a foreigner here, the prices I am getting really changes a lot. Eventually I won't be here next year or so... Many times, sellers tried to rip me off. Your experiences/quotes will be different than mine.

All I can say is, Lords gave me the best price. Difference was good enough to get on the MRT from City Hall/Bugis and go to Lucky plaza.

After my Dimage A2, D70 feels like a mustang. It is very dynamic. Also I realized how I missed the DOF of SLRs... Strange, but that's how it is.

D70 is not noise free, but I think the Neatimage cleans the noise of D70 far better than A2. Probably because the picture (and the noise) is much sharper on the D70. With D70 I don't hesitate to shoot at 800-1000 ISO in low light.

So far, I am happy.

alpie, gd to hear positive fb of D70. btw r u an american? cos mustang is more popular in usa.

That's OT, but I am not from US. I used to drive a classic Mustang at university years. My avatar says where I am from. ;)

Take only lexars........ 1GB 2GB 4GB 8GB!!!

Where can I get the best bargain for Lexar CF?

I am kind of getting mixed signal about D70 able to handle Lexar WA (Write Acceleration) Can anyone confirm this?

Nikon Singapore website (www.nikon.com.sg) says that it can handle Lexar WA. But it was not mention in Nikon other websites. I was also told from shops that D70 can't handle Lexar WA faster writing speed.

Don't think it really matters much. If you look at the compact flash performance database (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-6816), the D70 has write speeds of around 4.5 MB/s on the current fastest Sandisk and Lexar cards. That speed is probably at the limit of what the D70 can do (already more than double what the D100 does, and only slightly slower than the D2H)

U r being smoked by the shops heavily. ;)

D70 has no problem utilising Lexar's WA technology. Ask all the rest of the D70 users using the Lexar CF cards. :)

So which CF card should I be going after. The Lexar 80x or the Sandisk UltraII
