D70 vs D50 vs D40 mod

Since the hot mirror will be removed, it does not matter (as far as i know).
I would choose the one with the best noise performance instead, I would go for the D50 as it has better noise performance and larger LCD than the D70. D40 does not have AF motor thus it is out for me.

Yeah bro silvergetz is right in his preference for his converted D50 with HOYA R72.

Well, I prefer my D70 also converted with HOYA R72. You can see my IR photogs already posted in this forum.
I like D70 becoz i prefer to use CF cards, like it's small LCD screen, and it's old technology image sensor - CCD sensor.

Unfortunately being a newbie, taking IR photos really requires on-the-spot pixel peeping which I am unable to do.
I also prefer SD card to CF. Had to get a CF specially for this after I modded a 2nd hand cam which I bought from BnS. On the other hand, I already have a number of good quality spare SD
Just some points that apply to me, I guess.
