If you take care of your gear, it will serve you well for years to come.
Rarely, you get a lemon. Just like a car, you have to maintain and not abuse
it. Less break downs etc.

Use it regularly and your cam will survived the toughest test ... I have seen D70 dropped on to the floor and continue to perform ... wow ..

Some people don't feel good until their equipment is proven to be with problems :D

Suppose the repair department has to justify its existence.
They may be separate cost centres.
It can cut both ways.

The consumer is cheesed off and never uses the brand again.
(for me that's Toshiba laptops where they wanted to be paid a lot just for inspecting the thing even if nothing is wrong)

Or the company could be forcing you to buy the new model by making repair unbearably costly. If they overdo it, they may lose their customers. But if they are like Ng Ah Sio, then business is too good and to hell with the customer.

Yes, I would certainly take this into consideration next time round. It seems that the servicing fees for NSC are exorbiant! servicing of the 70-200 cost a whopping $280. Service mind you.. no parts replacement required!
Whereas the competitor's normal service is only 100+.
