Also notice the Astin shootout listing - almost everyone attending using a Canon dSLR. This is one of the reasons why I do not join them - using film F80 and small lens with small aperture only. Still thinking of getting that big lens....

astin is using a nikon camera (D100 i think).... :D

not trying to be rude but what kinda comment is this?!!

having a DSLR doesnt equate the ability to or not to take good photos. When I went to the Eye e City photo selection with Larry this afternoon, I noted that he had a wonderful shot and commented that it was possible because he had a D1X. You should have seen the expression on his face! He was upset! and so should any photographer worth his salt when you tell him his photo is good because his camera is good.

For portraiture work you don need fast af since you control lighting, posing and just everything else. Granted you might wish to have a 1.8 lens to play around with the bokeh and outdoor lighting might be uncooperative at times. Learn to might best use of your tools. D70 is not a miracle pill. Even with a 1/500 flash sync, if you don know how to use it, it is just the same as not having it.

apologies for the OT but I am kinda looking forward to the new D70. Everytime technology is proliferated we get new users who brings with them new perspectives and more opportunities to meet like minded people and share our passion

Larry maybe next time you try should using FM2 or maybe a P&S camera to shoot... :bsmilie: :blah:

Seriously, a good photo been produced are a work of many factors, but the most important of them all is the skill of the man behind the equipments. As I've stated many times, equipments only facilitate the process!
