From my usual sources for first hand information including DPreview, NO mention of auxililary flash feature or anywhere stating this so ABUNDANTLY clear.

Either you must have received priviledge information or you must have read the online manual thoroughly. For me, I am only stating what I come to realize AFTER I buy the camera and reading the manual to discover this. I hope that whoever purchasing this otherwise EXCELLENT camera would make a fully informed decision.

And oh by the way, Nikon had always pride about their backward compatibilities, go figure this one out. Now it has degenerated to not only a non-matrix flash let alone OEM entry level non-TTL flash function comparable to any $30 job.

Of course I am bitching about it cause I paid $400 for my SB28. Sorry you don't feel the same.

Hi

actually khinmarn, even a Nikon slamming Canon user like myself knows about this fact. :bsmilie: And i read it off dpreview!

and if u have read Canon vs Nikon threads here....u might have known.......... Nikon has changed their flash systems twice since the Sb28 if i am not mistaken..... mostly in an attempt to make them more compatible with digital....

i think your pre-buying research was not well conducted. But anyway you're already one foot in the grave, uh i mean into the system, go buy that new flash and enjoy taking pictures! ;p

I stand corrected.

postprocessed, RAW, or JPEG? :bsmilie:

really lor, this change of support for legacy TTL methods is inevitable as ASIC technology make headway. at least be thankful there's technology to do TTL metering, rather than manual all the way, and making sotongs like me unable to use flash... :p

Hmm. Are you positive? It can't be. Not unless you're calling khinmarn a liar.

Because he says he reads DPReview, and there was "NO mention of auxililary flash feature or anywhere stating this so ABUNDANTLY clear."

Emphasis, curiously enough, is khinmarn's.

i've got something to say....

what ever happened to the friendly camera dealer? just ask lor... lets not talk about research or what.

i am not here to question or slam the orginal poster. But guys and gals... do find out from people, espescially when you are new to a camera... i guess even if u have drooled and re-drooled over an old F5 and think u know it inside out..and u finally can buy it... still no harm asking.. this can work with this arnot...

so like in school... the teacher always say.... ask....
