Btw.. just hopeing that your batts in your sb800 is also fully charged? coz I have found inconsistencies when the batts are low.. i see this in also the sb80dx and sb28/28dx..

And nope.. you dont need to call.. just go down there.. lol..

Hi Gadrian, yup, problem still exsist when batts on SB800 and D70 Fully charge. Was hoping it was a low batt problem but looks like somehow D70 not communicating with SB800 correctly.

Hope NSC will be able to fix it!

Have you tried to push the 'hooks on the D70 more inside? Sometimes it might have been caused by the pins unable to touch those on the hotshoe and thus the flash is unable to communicate with the body.

Hi ESPN,

Yes, tried cleaning contacts, and also pushing sb800 into hotshoe, problem still there.

Well.. there is the Nikon Council... many D70 and SB800 users there.. sure anyone of us will love to help you to test.

Just to update,

Got my flash repaired at NSC on Wed, understand from the lady at the counter it was due to contacts, they just clean it with their so call "special cleaning solution" and its working fine now. Ask if i can buy this solution outside lady said not available.

Still quit puzzle still as to how my SB800 can lose conectivity so fast since its barely 2 months old and use only less than 3 times, neverthelesss, glad that its fixed now :)

Thanks all for the feedback :)

BTW, got some good news ... also got my CCD clean and was inform that cleaning of CCD after warranty is $25, read from some post earlier that its $50 or something :)
