Hi There, I would like to check with any ex D7000 users if the external battery grip MB-D11 can be used on the D600 (since their body is so similar).
If it cannot be used, then may I ask what is the latest price for the MB-D14 and where is the best place to purchase this.

No... Cannot. Or else there won't be a MB-D14. IIRC, it should be in the $230 region.

Don't think so. Should be $280-$300 range for MB-D14

Since the grip does not add any functionality apart from a dial button and vertical shutter button, I opted to purchase the Phottix 3rd party. Works fine with D600 and it's only $99.

Comes with battery pack adaptor for 6AAs or EN-EL15. It's a pretty good option opposed to using the original one.

Has anyone observed dark round arc at 24mm (FX mode) shot with a D600 body. Very obvious when you use it with a CPL.
Not a lens issue cos tested with 2 different lens at 24mm. It eventually disappear increase the zoom.

The dark round arc is AKA vignette. At such wide angle, thick filter frame may cause slight to obvious vignette at the edge of your frame. Hence slim frame CPL are usually recommended for ultra wide angle lenses. And for FX, 24mm is quite wide.

Hi, thanks for the hints. I see now is the lens problem instead of body.

Hi....Can share where you got the 3rd party vertical grip from (address/ telephone and person to contact will be helpful)?

Thanks

Hi,

I got it from TK Foto @ Funan, level 2 unit number 15 or 45, I think. Can't miss the blue "TK FOTO" signboard.

Was served by a young chap, think James? I didn't really get his name.

Have fun.

You are probably stacking your filters. Remove them and use them only 1 at a time.

hi lenslust,
may i know where u got the phottix grip?
interested in gettin 1 myself.
a question, how many batts (EN-EL15) can u put in the grip?

eg...the grips for d80,d90 allows 2 batts, the grip for d300s allows only 1...

EDITTED
my bad, saw the wrong pic for the grip. i think i know now, thx....1 batt in body, 1 in grip if i'm correct....

Think you have the answer, the issue is I'm lazy to unscrew the grip to put in the other battery into the camera chamber, so I just plug in 6AAs instead.

np.
how do u find the quality of the grip?

for 99, it's very cheap compare to nikon's...phottix calls it premium, but how do u find the quality?

Guys, you all still facing the issues of oil n dust now on D600?

It's alright, the vertical button has more recoil feel than the usual shutter buttons on the camera body. For $99 bucks it's not too bad a grip.

I've shot about 500 frames since I've had my shutter replaced. I'm getting less debris on the sensor, but I still get some.

It may be wishful thinking that is just old debris that's still in the body and it will go away. I hope that's what it is...

Another 500 frames should give a definitive answer, I hope.

Has anybody seen an improvement?

Ive only shot about 100+ frames so its definetely not a thorough test, but so far ive noticed only 1 spot. Will shoot more when im free and see what happens

Hi guys...so with all these issues with the oil and dust on the camera, is it still worth getting it? Will it go away as the shutter count increase and will Nikon clean or replace the sensor?

Hope to hear from the users as I am on the verge of buying this camera until I read the review and found out about the dust and oil issue.

I can only say for myself... I knew of this problem before i bought it and If given a 2nd chance, i would still buy this camera.

Theres no need to replace the sensor as its not the root cause of the dust issue.

Not worth. If you are bother by a few tiny spots.

I don't bother by the 2 tiny spots on my sensor.
