anyone paired your d600 with a tamron 24-70?

any comments on this combination?

*kee chiu*

Yup the Tamron is pretty good and living up to the good reviews given.

But don't expect it's USD to be as fast as the newer Nikkor's SWM though. The VC wise, Tamron claim that it's 4 stops but in actual field it's probably 2-3 stops depends on how stable you are.

IQ is great and it produces very pleasing background blur. I haven't been using it extensively, but I'm getting the impression that the tammy gives a tiny warm tone.

How long does it take u guys to zoom into 100% view in LR 4?

Change if you have the money. I note that you are a new D7000 user from the other thread?

I went this route, I can safely say the answer is a huge yes for me. Once you go to LR to process the files, you will appreciate the difference even more.

End of the day, some find it worthwhile, some don't. If you rarely shoot, I will suggest you to just stick with the D7000 and buy some good glass if the money die die must spend. If you already found out what you lack in the D7000 and have the budget and shoot regularly, by all means upgrade.

If you compare the design of the two bodies, you can almost tell from a glance that D600 was design for D7000 users who wants to step up to FX. Keeping most interface as close as possible (even U1 & U2), you should feel right at home with a FX sensor instead.

i upgraded from D90 to D7000 and find that there isn't much changes. thanks for all the constructive comments i have read through and decided i should probably go for a FX anyway since i have a number of FX lens in my arsenal :)

yup i've handled it in a store... the AF doesn't have that instantaneous feel.

personally how do you find the build quality? (i've read the reviews, but want to hear your take on it)

Build is very good, but definitely not those top end metallic bazookas that are build totally like a tank. But it's definitely high quality plastics. I feel that this tammy is totally meant to imitate the Canon's 24-70 f/2.8L II - in terms of design, dimensions (damn the filter size too) and the high quality plastics. It definitely feels light compared to lens that were built like a tank, like AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8.

It's an average deal. You can buy it but it's nothing special.

I'd say it's great if local warranty. If no local warranty, you can do better.

I am a bit confused by this thread (the last few pages at least); I checked the prices for the D600 body grey set at the Artworkfot (and technogadgets) websites, they are both quoting $2,250. That's very different from the $2,099 that is getting mentioned here.

$2,099 was the price offered by Artworkfoto a while ago. They may have revised their prices since then.

Was the $2099 that was offered, did it include GST? the $2,250 at their site is before GST, as I understand.
