D600 true or not, entry level Fx is a matter of time. It may come sooner than we thought. Give me a no frills light body weight Fx DSLR. :)

And in the future you will see medium format sensor at the size of a entry level Dslr :p

Now you can see the D3200 in crop sensor of 24mp, so u can believed in future Nikon can done what you expected right now

Before all that, they will need to put APS-C sensor on every compact PnS camera first...

A 38Mpx, Fx, light body with prime lens is a great walkabout camera.

Don't think too high Mp is good in the future FX entry cam, 1st we can't support all the Memory storage card & PC harddisk + Upgrade PC, to be all become the very expansive hobbies.

I didn't know this thread as progressed into a Sci-Fi genre.... :bsmilie:

Anything is possible in the future folks!

People used to debunk D800's 36MP capabilities before it was even released... I don't know if much are still at it now other than singing praises. And you've seen what 24MP can do on a entry level crop... Put 2 and 2 together... I don't know Nikon would ever go down to lower MP again... maybe minimum is 16MP... They seems to be able to reap a bountiful harvest from Sony's high MP sensors!

Prices will eventually go down over time... CF and SD prices have dropped since last IT show (in March?), particularly Sandisk...

The SD & CF is don't worry too much.
The main expansive to spend for upgrade your own laptop or PC storage and processor speed + need more rams to running the high Raw Files

All that will drop over time also, albeit slower but nevertheless WILL drop... as newer technologies pushed the boundaries...

What is top of the line PC and HDD now, becomes bottom of the line in 1 or 2 years time...

About a years ago, I wished Laptops/notebooks will move onto SSDs instead of HDD (peeps laughed at me)... 1 year now, we have ultrabooks with SSD capacities reaching 1/2 of HDD's 1 year back. While some pretty powerful laptops going under or around 1K these days. RAMs costs dirt cheap compared to RAMs of yester-years... You can fully pump up your PC's RAM to 16GB within S$100 give and take.... Try doing this 4 years back... it will cost you an arm and a leg...

Now is the time to upgrade PC right? Ha ha
To be using the SSD HD.

I don't upgrade unless I HAVE to... Upgrading technology is a constant and continuous thing... unless you live in a world completely isolated from Facebook/e-mails/ebay-BnS/Youtubes/Clubsnap... :P etc...

If Nikon were to seriously consider releasing that 24MP entry level full frame this September, one year from now most of us would have been fully prepared on PCs to embrace it!... :bsmilie:

Come to think about it, the "red ring" folks have been doing this all this while - I don't understand why we can't do it... LOL (we're only doing it a few years slower...)

New leads... hot from NR... Purportly maybe designer for Nikon sensors (although denied)...

Yup, confirmed earlier that's the D200... however, Aptina mentioned they have been working on sensors for a few years now... maybe some Nikon sensors we know are already done by them...
