my d600 just came from ncs yesterday. they've changed the shutter mechanism and did a general cleaning. it has been 6th month since the first dust appeared.

they still haven't remove 1 dust which i believed it is one of the stuborn dust, but the rest are all gone. luckily this dust is located at the foreground which it can be hidden is most lanscape compositions.

i am tired of worrying that dust anymore... instead i should continue shooting more...

that doesn't sound like a job well done.

it is still somehow stuck in the sensor and the Nikon service team can't remove it the first time round, you might want to bring it down a 2nd time, inform them of the stubborn dust, bring evidence along and get them to rectify the problem.

if it still can't be removed after the 2nd cleaning session by the professionals... ... ...

I need to send in again next week. Managed to blow off most of the dust after my shoot yesterday but got 2 stubborn ones Kenna stuck at critical area at the centre of sensor. Must have gotten in when I changed lens in the open.

Time to get the shutter mechanism changed finally :)

Here I bring bad news..lol

After shutter mechanism changed, cleaned and having a spotless cam back..

I now report that my cam is full of dust mostly on top left section, after about 1k+ shots..lol

Issue not fixed by shutter mechanism change...

No lah I guess the issue and most peoples concern is that the dust are probably not introduced into cam while I change lens etc..
For myself its fine as long f8 still cant see dust..

But strange tht Nikon has this issue..

Ya i know. But a simple solution is just take 10s of ur time amd blow it. Its just a few dots and not as serious.

I have notice tat at diff focal length, dots start to appear at diff aperture..

Yup I'm glad to report mine is rather spot free after the shutter change.

The few images I took at F16 are quite clear. :)

1000+ SC already.

Glad to hear tat!
Mine issnt 100% dust-free but its a lot better :)

Just noticed a LOT of dust spots on my D600 (i counted 25), and my camera is barely 2 weeks old! I urgently require my camera in 4 days for a shoot followed by an o/s trip. Any idea how long the service centre takes to address such issues?

Bring to service centre, tell them you want to do express cleaning. Estimated time is around 30mins to 1 hour.

I know it might seem ridiculous. But after several standard cleanings (about 8) my D600 seems not get hit by the issue that quickly. Not a solution but need to make effort to drop by regularly....

waitin for the new SC to be ready b4 sendin my cam in for a cleanin n hopefully shutter mech change...
notice a huge piece of debris on my viewfinder and can be seen with naked eye through the mount, but not affecting the pic.

New SC? Is this the same one or is there a new one?

Try blowing the VF with a strong blower. I did that and the dinosaurs came off.

Waiting for the new SC also, so that I can send my 70-200VR in for servicing and checking.

visited the new NSC this morning. bigger, spacious, and brighter. need to exchange NRIC for a visitor pass to assess to level #13.

Had to bring my D600 to NSC again this morning. Making it the fourth visit to NSC since getting my new D600 less than 6 months ago and with less than 6K shutter clicks so far. I penned the following on Nikon Singapore FB page a while ago but I expect it to be removed shortly by the admin.

"I bought a D600 in Dec last year. In less than six months since buying the camera from an IT fair, it has gone into your service centre no less than 3 times. Each time for sensor cleaning for dust problems. On my last visit the shutter mechanism was changed. My camera was kept for more than a week while waiting for the parts.

This morning I had to take my camera into NSC again. Dust spots on sensor and now another new problem - back focusing. My pictures started coming out blur with the background in sharp focus. This is happening even with different lenses that I am using - all lenses from Nikon.

I now believe I was given a faulty product to begin with. To have to bring a newly purchased product with less than 6 months of use and under 6K shutter clicks for servicing or repairs is ridiculous. What happened Nikon? Your service crew at NSC is excellent. And so were your products (I had the D7000 before this). I am terribly disappointed and there are many like me at the local photo forum clubsnap if you care to know."
