D600, D800 prices

This afternoon I walked pass Vision 1 Ptd Ltd at Burlington Square, I went in to look at mirrorless camera, they didn't have what I wanted to see. I asked about D600 and the staff gave me a quote of $2260. Surprised, I asked him twice, you sure this is the price for D600? Answered yes. Does it come with local warranty, again yes. I didn't ask whether it is shop warranty or Nikon warranty.

lol, it's not important whether it comes with a warranty or not. The important question is if it's a local Nikon warranty.

Maybe I should ask whether it is local 'Nikon warranty' instead of local warranty. He told me their company bought in bulk so they could offer a much lower price. Most likely they give shop warranty.

Bot my D600 today at Alan Photo @ $2405 cash. Comes with extra battery and 25L dry cabinet (plus... cleaning kit/tripod/bag/card reader) etc. Tot that is worth the money. Just on battery and cabi, would have been $150 cash.

They may have increased the price slightly to account for the freebies. Not that I am aware of any better price than this.

its a 25L dry cabinet. it is an electronic one, probably cost around S$100+-/.

i would take it to mean that it is not your average S$29 dry box.

let's wait for the CSer to explain his case.

if it is really the case, sounds like a rather sound purchase to me.
