Dear D60 users,
I am in the midst of considering my first DSLR.

May I know wat is the deciding factor that you guys choose D60 instead of D40 or D80?

Thank you for your advise.

For me, my diciding factor to choose this little beast are the size, price and handling. I felt the handling is very sturdy, better than Canon EOS 400D and Olympus E410. Initially my target was D80 but my budget was too little to afford it. D40 is good and I did some research over the internet and the review is quite qood but to me D40 6 Megapixel is like very outdated already. Differences compared to the D40X and D60:
EXPEED processing
Image sensor cleaning system with Airflow control system
Automatically rotating user interface (for using camera vertically orientated)
Stop motion movie function
New stabilized kit lens (AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR)
Eye sensor
Electronic 'rangefinder' for manual focus
Active D-Lighting with dedicated button
In-camera Raw processing
New JPEG retouch effects (Cross Star and Color Intensifier)

your deciding factors same as mine

a longtime clubsnap reader here but.....newbie to photography

been using the d60 for the past month and its cool.....easy and fun to pickup for dslr

am using 18-55mm vr (kit) + 55-200mm vr + sb-400. still learning the ropes though....

as for d60 vs d40..basically price not much different especially if u consider d60 has a fantastic kit lens....:)

d40 is kinda eol already for quite a while.

1) budget

din want to over commit for a d80 juz yet.

2) weight

the d60 seems more convenient to carry ard for me. i mean i did weigh the factor as to what lenses i was gonna use and decided on those with built in motors. of course this means the d60 fits the bill for me :)

Hiya, my photographs are ready for viewing.. phew... nights of reviews... http://www.walkinlight.com/gallery/tokyo2008. All photos were taken using Nikon D60 and Nikon 18-200mm VR2 lens - my favourite tourist lens. :)

Guys, i juz bought a 50mm f1.8 without reading about it. I juz realized the focusing is manual on a D60. This is a great lens for its price just that you have to manual focus.

anyone know if there are similar lens that can work on D60?

Thx!

If i am not wrong, there is a sigma version with AF working on it, but the price is....
