Hmmm... yeah, if it ever reaches that price soon, I'll be jumping in line as well.

Following is pure speculation (for the fun of it):
I think perhaps Canon may just keep the 6-megapixel sensor, and try to 'improve' the D60. Like what they did for the G2 to G3. But that would mean they can't address the FOV issue.

Perhaps a revamped D60 at same introductory price to entice new DSLR buyers, and perhaps one at 9MPs range, priced somewhat cheaper than 1Ds, to entice D60 upgraders. Don't know enuff about 1Ds say much though.

Don't think Canon will release pro level DSLR at PMA 2003.
