Don't need to worry! In fact lens with image stabilization is better then those in the camera body.
How is lens with IS better than camera body with built in IS? From what I've read, both are about the same with no major differences

haha... flame war. this topic has been debated here, there and everywhere. search bah. Everyone has got their own opinions.

Best to send / call them for a quote. Try TK Foto, SLR-R, Cathay.
Among the quotes I got, T K was the cheapest but as Cathay was just next to my office and we had some other purchases as well, we just bought from Cathay to save the hassle of traveling.

Thanks bro SkimMilk, will check with them. Going to get it next month, hope they still have stocks. :)

A few months back, TK was selling it with e freebies listed at 900+.. can't rmb the exact amount I paid but it's definitely less than 1k..

Price increased alr?

Guys, take note. If you intend to get the original Nikon IR remote from Buy/Section of Clubsnap, think twice.... The original Nikon IR remote is selling at S$16-18 brand new from Shop, so do take note. Also the 3rd party wired remote from Phottix seems to be of better quality than the other 3rd party wired remote.

Cheers

well, despite so many recommendation, my first experience with TK was not very good today. Quote me $990 with 8gb and bag then i told him i sent them an email for quotation, and he lowered to 985 and got stock, keep saying no stock, tell me if i walk one round come back no more liao.. all the story.. listen liao sibei sianz.

end up got a newspaper and saw suntec Christmas fair having a promo and got it @ $1199 (tripod, 30l dry cabinet, uv filter, screen protector, Nikon bag, 8gb + 16 gb SD card, card reader, cleaning kit) from audio house btw.

B+W filter is expensive for the kit lens. You can save some by getting hoya UV filter or Kenko UV filter.:D

Please do some homework before buying your filter to prevent yourself from being "kato" =x

Hi guys,
wanna ask, since D5100 is a DX-format cam (err, right?) , can they mount/use FX-format lens too?
cos i was looking to buy AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G, which on the nikon site says tt its compatible with Nikon FX-format digital-SLR cameras... so means our DX format cam unable to fully utilise the f/1.8? or is it just cropped only?

Need your advice, thanks :)

No problem with using the lens on a cropped frame camera. The usual 1.5X crop factor applies. Same for all Nikon or 3rd part FX lenses, they can all be use for cropped bodies.

If budget is not a problem, sure you can use. You gain some but lose some. It's nothing to do with f/1.8. It's the focal length.
