D5100 user...fall in!! Part Two

I bought a 35mm 1.8/G lens last week at TK photos. So far busy working dont really have time to come out and try :(

However, i m glad i got it though :)

Next step, looking for a flash. The TK photo salesperson suggested a Nissin though.

PC show got better deals?

PC shows usually dont have anything particularly cheap. At best you can ask for freebies thrown in. U would be better served getting a nikon sb600 for abt 200 or less on the bns section. A brand new nissin 622 mark ii may be ard the same price? Not too sure though.

Bought the cam for around 1 yr but most of the time left it in cabinet.. Go shooting alone like no motivation :(

Then join some outing? That's how I met all my shooting kaki

But like seriously, this forum like machiam dying down like that ...

Never been to an outing before . Whats is it like bro??

An outing is kinda an activity where all shooters who signed up together and they shoot together. Advantage is that they're a mixture of noobies and old birds. So the old-birds tend to be the noobie's "consultant" during shooting.. Hihi.

those outing needs to be book in advanced and usually full very fast :( am thinking like having small group 2-4 ppl, no need so advanced planning..

You can organize your own outing, this way, it will definitely fit your schedule.

Why not just organize one yourself, better than waiting for someone to create a "D5100" outing..

different camera never mind, ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, Composition is the same. (correct me if I'm wrong). feel free to add in more. haha that's all i can think of now.

Hi fellow D5100,

I am Ray, a newbie. I love close up shots. I wish to try out landscape too.. Something like wide angle shots for d5100. Is it possible with a d5100? Which lens should I be looking at?

hello Experts here. Need some advise. For portrait and street shooting, so I get the Tamron SP AF 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical [IF] MACRO or should I get the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 DX? Is the Tamron lens slow in AF? Thanks in advance

Depends if you prefer zoom or prime lenses. What I can say is that the 28-75's focusing is not really fast. The 35mm focuses a lot faster. Try both lenses out before buying.

If u see fx in your future, forget the 35mm and get afs50mm 1.8g instead. They are ard the same price in the bns section. The crop factor issue isnt much of a problem. U can always walk further away and the focal length nth is pretty gd for portraits.
28-75 remember to get bim version since d5100 doesn't have the screw drive af
