D5100 user...fall in!! Part Two

Hi all,

I'm looking for Nikon 5100. May I know where to get good deal and what are the accessories/package that usually come with?

Try liao.... D5100 cannot work with Af-D lens when the lens aperture is set manually on the ring. When you release the lock on aperture ring of the AF-D lens and rotate it off from F22, the camera will ask you to set the aperture back to F22 and lock it, if not it will prompt you all the time and you cannot work with the camera.

Is it all dx lenses come with built in af motor??

Anybody had tried the nikkor 70-300mm lens? I borrowed my frens but the af motor seems to have a tick sound n then a whirr, when i release the button, it stopped. Anyone experience this before? Is it normal?

Browse ard funan, u might get a good deal amongst the reputable shops. Usual pkg is kit lens, battery. But due to gd price, usually they dont throw in much goodies.

the 3rd one bro. the one we can fine under FX category in nikon website....in fact i asked my fren abt the sound, he says its the VR sound. strangely the AF is quiet unlike other lenses i have with the whizz sound but never encounter the VR sound like that.

bro, i dunno good news or not but for it's certainly good news. i managed to play with the DOF in the movie mode like focus foreground blur background then focus background blur foreground. was very happy with the results.....

bro, i dunno good news or not but for it's certainly good news. i managed to play with the DOF in the movie mode like focus foreground blur background then focus background blur foreground. was very happy with the results.....

Using 50mm f1.8D lens ?

nope bro, i tested on 18-105mm, 55-200mm, 70-300mm.......it's all in manual manual manual focus....u shld try it, it's very nice cos u get the effect of the $20,000 video camera......sweee.......
