Anyone have any good idea on hw to persuade my parents to let me buy one 2nd hand D5000 camera?

She doesn't seems to allow me to get one cause i'm too young?
I'm 15 yrs old this year secondary 4...

Any idea? I'm using my own savings actually...
And oh ya!!!
If i buy a 2nd D5000 Do i get any strap and bag and a tripod? Or is it just a camera?

Cause i'm new i think i need does stuff...

Always listen to mama, coz mama knows best.

Do something great that will pleasantly surprise her, like Ace all your exams or something. Make her happy, and show her you are responsible enough to take care of your studies and at the same time take care of a camera. I am sure if you can achieve that, you will have no problem persuading your mom.

persuade ur parents that i cant help much... my parents dont like the idea of 2nd hand. I love to get them. the sunk cost of photography is not how much the equipment is but (price u buy it at - price u sell it for)
2nd hand minimun lost especially when every cent counts at ur age? and u might not like photography after a while? or ur eyes are on better cameras a month later.

as for what u get for 2nd hand.. dont borther abt those tripod that comes free with camera... bite the bullet and get a decent 1.... benro 250ex is suitable for ur set up... u can get it cheap at 100 2nd hand?

bag u can buy from bro who want to sell them... sometime new.. like the nikon lowepro rezo 190aw

straps some bro dont use it... some does... if u r concern get a new one?

just go a set with body with kit lens ...

dun worry..I am 37..and my mum still nag at me when I buy the D5k last year....say that I anyhow spend money....hahaha
just show to your mum that you are persistance in the hobby, and u are able to take nice and decent pic with even a Point and shoot....after she see it..she will know u really got talent and will let u buy....
buy it bcos you want to show off the nice pic you took and not show off to your fren u have a DSLR.

How to persuade? 1 way.. beg and beg and beg...
Nothing is too young to start... tell them u wanna join a photography club at the nearby CC... tell them that will keep you out of gangs and drugs.
Using your own savings is ok.. but still getting the endorsement is impt... so, beg, beg, beg.
2nd hand... if you are new, i would say try not too. if you ask earlier I will sell u mine coz it just got reserved by someone else.. mine is less than 2 mths old. Depends on what people wanna sell with.. mine is with nikon bag, body, strap, 2 batt and original accessories. No tripods. Lens the buyer dun want, else I would sell together also.

In a nutshell, if u want something, just beg and beg... tell them u will score A's for O levels and would prove to them. U know what I mean lah... of coz.. u better mean it and do it... photography is addictive... dun let it affect ur studies...

don't waste a your time. learn more about photography first with a prosumer and see if you really like it.

getting a DSLR does not mean that you will automatically take better photos.

And.. if you want to grow up, stop relying on your parents. Save/work for your own wants.

same same, the amount spent on camera and stuffs must be at least half or even to be spent on her...;p but on the good side, shes supportive in a way...

to TS just convince ya parents, they may nag, but talk to them nicely, convince them im sure they will help in the end, if not more at least a bit is better...

i'm a good boy infact... and alot of things i learn without and clubs or courses... just from the forums itself.... I buy and learn everything about PC all by myself...( just with somke forumers help )

And now i'm doing some Overclocking on it too... so yea...
