Maybe you guys want to drop Ron a email again..

Or check with ParkertR as he aslo bringing in some 3rd party LCD hood for the D50.

The problem is D50 does not have "hinges" that allows you to hook on the LCD hood. (If you look at the D70 and other big brothers, there are 2 small indents that allows the LCD hood to clip on). As such any LCD hood (original or 3rd party) would be probably a stick on. Yucks, I'll stick to the PDA LCD screens. Works ok for me.

Feel like screaming, "Just cut and paste the LCD protector lah!"

But thinking about it again, I think the LCD protector on my D50 is sort of dirty right now after all the sweat, oil and everything dirty that can go onto it after some while, its not showing me the "real" information I really need.

Somemore, a lousy reason is, the big brothers have LCD hoods, I am sort of getting jealous. hehe... But for this kind of price and other good things that others don't have, let's compromise lah. Its just a piece of plastic less. But just feel this is an area of D50 that can be better will definitely be looking out for someone who will be so kind to bring in its hood.

And to that funny guy that still looks thru the LCD and wonder why he can't see anything without his backlight, welcome to Technology world. LOOK INTO YOUR VIEWFINDER! There are wonderful things to discover in it.

Just joking ah, guys don't bombard me, no offence. :bsmilie:

Normal film or PDA type only protect from scratches, not knock or hit.
'da Proctector still a stick on but it is thick enough to protect against knock
and won't affect the image viewing.

That's true. Maybe I'll consider even a stick on hood if it's nicely done....:)

Anyway, in the meantime, no hood for D50 so I'm still happy with my "PDA-type" screen protector.

I will also change my D70s BM-5 to 'da if 'da come out 1 for D70s.
Dust won't get in between the LCD screen & the protector for 'da.

But you need to open the hood to preview. Troublesome if you like to preview your every shoot.

I think there are 2 type hood for D70s. One with double tape, and the other one is like BM-5. Have a clip to clip on the LCD. This one is better.

Arto.
