Every glass has it's own hood... get it if you can, it doesn't hurt to use one.

just to add, fyi only...

the kit lens of the 350D, 20D does not come with a lens hood.
its an optional accesory to be bought seperately.

dont waste money on the hood. u pay $20 for a piece of ugly plastic that doesnt work. i rather use a paper cone ;p

I am surprised why no one mentioned KM D5D? why not KM D5D? It's the best entry and cheapest DSLR with the only antishake feature in the market. The image quality (even with Kit lens) beats all the above mentioned cameras bundled. The color reproduction is also the best and most vivid.

The above pics were all done with kits lens and only sharpened as mentioned by the threadstarters. So far I havent seen anything amazing than these.

Well, as with other things in life, it does seem that size does matter here as well.

It's not what's in the package, but the size of the package. Haha!

If you're talking about size, it's not only the size, but the weight and CG that balances the glass and the camera body when mounted.
