I'm going to get a D40X, and saw the Nikon Comex promotion. I'm not going to Comex and get jammed there! PK photo that is tying up with Nikon is closed and all their salesman in Comex. I called Alan photo, and it seems that they also can provide that promotional price with all the freebies. Not sure can trust or not..
My question is: Which shop got the best (in your opinion) price that I should definitely take a look? I think I shouldn't miss Sim Lim Sq right?

The SD card I have is the normal one on the D40x but it writes just fine. The camera has a buffer where it can store a certain number of pics (not sure how many) before it writes to the SD card... so unless you taking in continuous mode... it should be alright...

Mmmm... just remembered that if you turn noise reduction on, it will really reduce the speed of the camera as it would process the whole pic before writing it... the default is off...

The extended warranty is worth it if you are going to keep all your gear. If you try to resell it on CS, it seems (my impression) that the extended warranty does not seem to bring the price up much more. Then again... whenever we buy and sell electronics stuff... almost immediately after purchase, a resell would drop the price by 10-20%.

Warranty is always useful... especially if you end up with a lemon.

I just took my cam to do a CCD cleaning at Nikon Service Centre, and I asked how much it would cost to do a CCD cleaning after warranty, and they said it'll cost about $25+GST. So, that cost alone can be looked into.

If your extended warranty is 2 years (by that time the D40x would be most probably out of production), and if something happens to the cam beyond repair (read the terms and conditions), HN would replace a new one at the price you first purchased it for.
