D40 price..liplai n help...

went to cathay photo Marina Sq to ask abt D40 and quoted me $890.

Package comes with:

Body+lenses
2GB memory
tripod (intend to change for bag...wonder can or nt)

Have to get xtra:
Cleaning kit
Camera bag
Screen protector
dry box

u tink price reasonable?

I went to AP-F just this monday and they quoted me 869 for d40 kit...but no tripod
Cathay at Peninsular quoted me $880 for d40 kit and 1020 for d40x kit, with tripod.

i saw the tripod it is $70++..dunooe leh..i m still new so dunoe do i need the tripod..i tink i shld get a bag instead of tripod coz i do travel alot

I am from Brunei and a friend of mine get me my D40 from Dynasty photo @ SGD795 with 1GB, and before that, I quoted Cathay Photo and they gave me SGD800 with 2 GB.

All these are prices before GST, and that's more than a month ago.

Well, don't omit the importance of tripod! It's quite an essential piece of kit, I am having a headache trying to look for one (and get them to ship it to me) and delimma of choosing one. Bag, well, get a sturdy one, they are made to last after all. =)

Lucky Plaza might not be a good place unless you are going to lord.

Needless to say, i was sold, beceause i was lucky enough to be served by a very help guy there, he was giving me awesome advice and stuff. I ended up buying a UV filter and a vacuum box too!

I don't know if you've seen it, but Nikon's having X'mas sale. I can't recall how much the D40 kit is, but they're throwing in a 2GB SD card and a tripod as well. You can take a look at Sunday's newspaper for the ad if you're interested.

went with my frenz to e Lord.. sale person was very nice n helpful..quoted me 850 for D40 n bundle with 2GB memory, bag (with xtra $10 topup for lowerpro). free me cleaning kit n screenprotector lo(coz of my frenz :sweat n pay 35 more for UV filter n dry box.
total damage $895... Nice salesperson.. i can c more future dealing with them...

1) a circular polariser filter - cheap ones ard $30
2) 55-200mm zoom lense - i think can get ard $300
