I'm still using my kit lens and intend to get a 55-200mm VR. No moola for 18-200mm VR so have to stick with this combo for now. Anyway seems like 55-200mm VR is a pretty good lens for it's price but off coz sacrifice the flexibility since have to change lens. Will try it out and see how it goes. Have mixed remarks on the 18-270mm VC, mostly negative from dpreview discussion, but I guess sometimes it's how you make the lens work for you. Me newbie so hopefully the lens can work for me without much intervention from me...kekeke...I like the 70-300mm VR and will be my target for next year. Have to do it slowly else my kids gonna eat bread everyday. Heehee....

I own a D60 with twin kit lens. 18-55mm VR and 50-200mm VR. The only problem is the constant switch of lens. But that is why you buy a DSLR

Then I bought a Nikon 105mm Macro lens. This will be for macro and portraits. It can take good portrait pictures and macros. I use it as a walk around lens. Get it for $920 second hand.

That's a reason why some people have more than one DSLR. ;p

Now owning 17-50 Tamron 2.8 (with motor) and 18-70 Nikkor ED 3.5-4.5. Selling off the 18-55 VR kit lens.

Nikon D60 with Kit Lens and SIGMA 70-300mm f4-5.6D APO MACRO.

But i mostly use my Sigma lens.

i just got my d60 body and i loaned an 18-70mm from my friend...great lens

but i was using my dad's classic af nikkor 35-70mm f3.3-4.5 and i really love the colours that it gives...
even though it doesn't autofoucs on my camera and not as wide, i still use it more often.

is it just me or are modern nikkors and "ancient" nikkor really different? just a thought...

The coating formulation is slightly different for the older nikkors.

i noticed that older lens gives a more lifelike colour which i really like..

the 18-70mm gave pictures that were more vivid but seem less natural..

is this expected between old and new nikkors? because i wanna get some dx lenses but im now seriously considering older lens!

Replaced my D40 kit lens with 18-200mm VR.

Then got a 105mm micro VR for macro shots.

Trying to decide between 10-20mm Sigma or a fast short prime lens, depending on which one I will use more.

So addictive :P

I've got my 55-200mm VR lens and it is great! But the switching of lens can be a hassle sometimes, but for the price, I think still worth it. I would love the 18-200mm VR or maybe, just maybe even the 18-270mm Tamron lens, but price a bit out of reach at the moment for me. Need to do it slowly. Will play around with this 2 lenses first.

Currently using D40 and with the kit lens and 55-200mm non VR.

Now i want to buy a new lens to fill my hunger and looking at Sigma 30mm F1.4 or Tamron 17-50MM F2.8. Any advice? I like to walk around and take pictures and able to take portrait.
