D300s User Thread

I am using Jianisi for wired remote (around $15) and Yongnuo for wireless radio trigger (around $30).

Errh. Where can you get the Yongnuo wireless radio(YN 129) trigger locally. From what i had checked from their site, I think you have to mass order - Minimum order quantity 96 pieces.

Txs:)

I bought it in Shanghai. And I am using YN-128. Even in the many stores I went to in Shanghai Starlight camera mall, I did not come across YN-129. Everyone was selling YN-128.

I believe some of the sellers in mass sales are carrying YN-128. You can check with them if they are bringing in YN-129. One of them is http://store.tagotech.com/index.php?cPath=24_42

Oh, and once you get it, remember to change the frequency right away. The other day at a shoot, another dude has the same wireless trigger as me and we are firing each other's camera off. Quite funny. :bsmilie:

Coz I hav a D90 also, the battery power is auto switch....wondering how come D300s is not, that why like to check with senior user here.

(btw I had check the settiong):(

It should.

When you mentioned checked the setting is it custom settings menu d11: battery order?

One way to test is to have both batteries full charged. Insert both batteries and install the grip on the camera. Set the grip battery to be the primary one. And pull the battery in the grip out. It should switch to the one in the body. If it doesn't, you need to go down to NSC.

And also, are you using original Nikon batteries? Some 3rd party generics have been reported to cause problems with the D300/D300s.

You should also check your firmware version on your camera. The most recent update fixed something pertaining to use of battery grip.

Let me check mine and get back to you.

Mine is working perfectly well. When i slot a battery either into the body or the MB-D10, it is detected as shown on the control panel. When in the body, the normal battery bar will show. When in the MB-D10, on top of the battery bar, there will be an additional indicator(BP) in the display next to it.

:)

Forgot to add, for D12 - battery order, i set it to MB-D10 first. Though i dont think that makes a difference.
I am also using the latest firmware version. You might want to check your version as suggested by bro daredevil123.
HTH

Cheers:)

Admit I'm Kiasu, so I checked mine too.

No battery in the body. I placed a non-original battery into MB-D10 and it reads BP on the LCD top panel.

Make sure your setting is to use MB-D10 batteries first, instead of body one.
Same advise from fellow users too. :)

I really suggest using original Nikon batteries. They are not a lot more expensive than the 3rd party ones. Original EN-EL3e is only going for less than $50 each nowadays.

hi all,

Tks for above seniors has replied and advise.......:D

Sorry if i ask stupid question, coz I m still nuts on dslr:cry:

Check your firmware first, to see if it is already v1.01.
