they can make video recording. just get an En-EL4 battery for D3 and battery grip, shoot at a max of 8fps non stop for 10min.

go abck use software compile together into a 8fps video. still video.

if you wan video at 24 fps and AUDIO, try getting D90.

with the money to upgrade to D700, IMO the TS will be better off getting a 12-24 f/4, 17-55 f/2.8, 80-200 f/2.8. you got the whole range covered from wide to tele except the gap between 55-80, which isn't that critical to me.

I'm with you, JeFfy.

Go for lenses than body, unless D80 is already limiting your creativity.

Since you intend to keep D80 as a spare, I'd say to go with D300 if upgrading.
DX lenses are already that good, especially if you get 17-55.
