A better bet would be to get yourself into NPS, Nikon Professional Services. But take note that their requirement is very stringent.

Not true. People working in Nikon don't use the vest, from what I see. Nikon also sometimes gives it out as doorgifts.

Ultimately it's how much you want to spend on the vest, with enough money you can always get it. :angel: ;p

Anyway I have one extra one, just don't know whether I should let go to the market or give to my PA for her to use.

Interesting ... since you have a D2X, why don't you use that as the primary camera and the D300 as backup. If you are shooting at 14-bits, then regardless of what battery you use, you only get 2.5fps with the D300. I think the D2X is a better camera anyway, it focuses faster than the D300. I sold my D300 after 2 months of owning it as it has some limitations that I needed to get around. I was contemplating getting a D2Xs as backup to my D3 especially for fast action at a distance.

This thread was created yonks ago - since then I decided to go with 2 D300 bodies as my primary shooting set, one with telephoto and one with 17-55 or wide angle.

I don't shoot at 14bits so no issue to me. D2x has faster initial aquisition/snap (I "feel") but I would like the ISO 3.2K instead.

I've only seen Nikon Vests in L size (But their L Size = normal M Size).

And on a side note, a small vest is damn hot, and if you shoot more than 4h in hot SG in a vest without re hydration you are risking heatstroke. Also, a tiny vest can hardly put anything. Useless. From practical experience.

Why don't you go ask other ClubSnap Nikon people to get a vest for you? I can direct you to some of them. They are probably much better connected than me.

Anyway I don't have "internal connections" within Nikon Singapore. I'm just an ordinary NPS memeber.


Why the desperation over the vest? If really want one give me an offer and I'll sell my spare one to you.


N.B. Just some friendly advice: I think later on in life you will learn that you will get some things easier if you learn not to repeatedly ask people to do things for you - people don't owe you favours.
