yes ah... belif its at photokina in Sept.

the D200 price drop is to combat Canon's 30D. 30D is selling at a super low price.

ya 30D is really quite low price.... the 20D units are like even cheaper.... wonder what sony will come up with. Really looking forward to sony DSLRs. I mean if they manufacture sensors for nikon, they will keep their "best" for themselves huh. Or at least they can sell cheaper to themselves and get a price advantage. With Antishake from minolta....

when new models are out, old ones will be taken off the shelves. if not they become a pain in the neck as far as marketing is concern. what price to tag it??? too high ppl complain old model still so ex, might as well get new model, too low ppl complain....wa liao, last time i paid so much so much for it... hard to please la you know

Wonder when would Nikon jump on the VR-on-sensor wagon to hit Sony on the head before Sony get any headstart. Nikon is in a better position to do it than Canon as Nikon has got only a few VR lenses - still not too late to do it.

My guess for the near future is VR on dSLR body with APS size and lenses are all AF-S DX zooms.

i like ur idea.. shd propose it to Nikon:thumbsup:

they would have to develops the technology first...and sufficiently different from the Minolta's technology that they would not infringe on Minolta's IP...

need to clarify,
a) that's $2650 nett gst included?
b) or it's $2780 nett gst included?

Just like Canon's IS, Nikon's VR and Sigma OS and KM's AS - I guess they are all about the same thing, except that they are called differently and implemented somewhat differently. Just got to transfer it to the sensor - maybe, I oversimplify here......

Prices of these cameras will get cheaper and cheaper... and before you know it a new model is out. This is all planned to maximise consumer spending...

Huh...???

This is same like saying Mc Donald, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken all about the same thing, called differently, and cook somewhat differently... :bsmilie: .

Arto.

I believe they are sufficiently different that they can get their own patents...and do not infringe on the patents of others... :)

And implementation on sensor ala KM opens a different can of worms in terms of sensor to lens aspect, imaging circle size (especially with regards to DX lenses), etc., which even KM has prob solving after much research... ;p

So what about the D200 set at $2680?
last 2 sets.

Does anyone know whether D200 can fit Sigma 18 - 50 2.8. I tested another few photos and photos kind of weird. Sigma did announce that D200 cannot fit certain Sigma lens but no mention of my lens. Any comments
