Did you mount the flash while the body and/or flash are switched on?
Try switching off both the body and flash before you mount the flash.
See if it still "auto" flash.

always mount only when both switched off....

hmm....NSC... here i come... next week... hee hee... busy these few days

Hi there,

I got the same problem 2 days I purchase my D200 with SB-600, never happened with my D70. Got the D200 1 to 1 exchanged immediately.

I believed is the 'Modelling Light' that's flashing not the actual flash itself.

Try disable the Modelling Light and monitor. If the problem did not appear anymore, better get your D200 checked. The shop told me it could be the hot shoe 'shorted' or something.

Hope this helps.

Very good customer service.

That was his promise, any problem with camera, 1 to 1 exchange. As long as the warranty is not filled-up.

Seems that he has lived up to his promise.

Love that guy.

It is in the D200 manual, as I do not have it with me can' t point you to the exact page.

Don't bother the searh here. :dunno:

found it liao.... but after setting it, still short circuit....
will go down and see what the nice gentleman at the shop can do.....

there is definitely something wrong with the camera, when lens and external flash in used, and you shake the camera a bit, it will do a flash, though not everytime, but you will get it about 40% of the time....

anyway, the problem is solved.... cause had a camera exchanged....

for fantastic AFTER SALES service, go to Lords, look for James....
thumbs up for Lords

Strobe, not stroke :bsmilie: .

But, SB600 can't do strobe (KRW say so....), so this modelling light is impossible in SB600.

Arto.
