It's just very strange

The question I always ask myself is, why spend thousands on a camera and risk damaging it just to save a few dollars. :dunno:

If you use an original battery and it damages your equipment, Nikon will have to be responsible. If you use a 3rd party product, Nikon will tell you to go :hung:

Remember the recent article in the newspapers about the guy who's Noika mobile exploded? He had the phone in his trouser pocket and the explosion burnt his leg. When it was found that he had used a 3rd party battery, Noka quickly refused to accept any responsibility. Good thing the explosion didn't blow off his nuts

, so now he still can "bang balls"

I agree. It's not worth the risks, saving the few dollars and risking the value of the investment of a few thousands. I reckon that the original charger (MH-18 or MH-19) should also be used with EN-EL3e batteries too.

Forget 3rd party. All CMI. Get original.

Get from TK Foto.

That's too wide a sweeping statement.
The main problem is Singapore tends to get the cheapo 3rd parties more often than not. We have to look out for good ones and good batches. Korea has some really good unheard of brands as over the years, the factories have improved significantly.

$85 for a 3rd party D200 battery is insane when the original is that price. If you really have to save or otherwise, Eastgear has finally shipped in their usual brand of 3rd party for $60. That said, across the border, an original battery can go for as little as SGD$60.

Some people won't understand it... it's hard to educate them...
