Hey people, go buy lah, here is 1 more reason to convince yourself to buy. Just imagine that 20 years later when the D100 becomes a classic ie antique ie collectors item, then how much it will worth?

Tip: How much is an original Nikon F worth today? Your guess?

Very big difference between the two... one is a mechanical master piece that will always work and can be properly serviced while the other is a electronic piece that is made obselete the moment a newer chip is introduced and probably will not work or be serviced in 20 years time! ;p

MB-D100 for S$345 at AP together with the Cam... Extra Nikon EN-EL3 battery for S$85.

However I was offered $32  for a compatible battery but I dare not go for it for fear the camera will explore right in my face just like the Nokia Phone that some newspaper report I read sometime ago... :bsmilie:

As for the 70-200VR, I already own the 80-200 f/2.8D so not much needed for the 70-200 range, also on the other hand, already broke after getting the D100...

Hey why wait next week when you can get today!!!

Asked AP, Cathay Photo, MS Colour...all out of stock!!! Anyone want to sell their D100?

U might want to check with John 3:16, I last saw they had stock of 1 or 2 units.

Just wondering.

Can we use the installment payment scheme for credit cards when buying from places like CP, AP, MS, etc.?

CP - always allow credit card payment without additional percentage

AP - Charges 2-3.5% depends on which card

MSColor - Not sure maybe someone can confirm...

As for the credit card payment scheme, that is depends on the card issuer and whether that particular shop got any promo with the banks... I do heard that Stand.Chart does have a scheme whereby you activate a 12mth interest free after you have purchase the equipment, but that is only 1 time per card... something like that.

Why not just pay using credit card, than take a short term self-control 3mth repayment scheme? I believe the 24% per annum can't kill you, ie, for a purchase of $3000, the interest per mth is ~$60  , so just pay the bank $1060 each mth. But of cos, this requires a lot of self-control, I did recommend this method to some of my friends  and it turns out they took almost 1 year to repay. That is because they continue to use the card during the repayment term of 3 mths thus the principle amount increases... ;(

Don't heed my advise unless you're very sure that you can afford $1060 each mth without incurring additional charges on this particular credit card or other credit card as well.

Well as for installaments scheme, like 12/24mth, try Harvey Norman or Best Dennki. But you must prepare to pay them at least $500 more original price tag. But on the other hand, they do have a 5yrs warranty scheme for you to sign up. This 5yrs warranty scheme will cover you for the CCD cleaning and maintainence of the camera.

Alternatively is to pay by credit card, then use cashline to pay your credit card, then pay back cashline back over 12 months. Cashline interest (12% p.a.) is much lower than credit card company.

Good idea... so espn, mjjphoto & nickle BUY! BUY! BUY! storm to John 3:16... yea they accept credit card also with a mere 2%-3%

BUY!!! BUY!!! BUY!!!
Who will be going to the D100 Salon next week?

Isn't it the same??? 2% on each items & 2% for the final total of all the items... :hammer: eg. if each item cost $100, you bought 6 items, thus you will be charged $102 (additional 2% for each item) amounting to total $612 rite...

Now if they charged a 2% for all the items together, ie 6 items of $100 each total $600, 2% of $600 will be $612 also.

Be it they present the 2% in each items or 2% for the total amount is the same. Reasons being why they have to charged to each item is because, their prices quoted have already absorb the 4% GST and there is no column in the final figure to reflect the 2%. Moreover, frankly speaking, they are not allowed to charge the 2% extra as they have already signed a pact with the credit card company not to charge extra for credit card payments or to discourage credit card payment... if you'd inform the bank of such thing, the bank may strike their company name's name off the credit card payment and they would not able to accept credit card anymore. However most merchants know how to protect themselves by telling the customers that the price quoted is cash payments only. That's why in most established computer notebooks or PC store, you'll always find a footer fine print indicating that the prices above is for Cash or NETS payment only.

Personally I fine it crazy, as each day I can only withdraw $2000 and that the same for NETS payments as well. So to purchase something that is more than $2K, I'll have to wait 2 days to withdraw the cash for cash payments!!! ;(

For payments more then 2K, you can do the alternative.

Use OUB NETS card, their limit is 3K / day.

For POSB/DBS, the work around is let the shop swipe your card for the max (2K), you'll still be able to draw out 2K (max) after that, but you can't DRAW then SWIPE, it won't work vice versa. So you don't really have to wait 2 days to draw cash. You have immediate 4K in your nets :)

How I know? I used to do sales at Funan, and this is a handy way for those who don't want to use Credit but NETs/Cash. Hope it helps.
