CZ 16-80 vs tamron 17-50

Aperture and hunting wise, the tamron wins but it is indeed soft @ 2.8. It is a huge step up from the kit lens in terms of sharpness but if you were to try the CZ1680, you would no longer think the tamron is sharp :sweatsm:. From personal experience, I find the tamron less prone to vignetting.. weird :dunno:

This thread already funny from the beginning also,
how come Carl Zeiss lenses compare to cheap Tamron lenses,
that question are not relevant :bsmilie:

It's like you're asking between
Mercedes compare with Toyota Avanza, that's funny :bsmilie:

Uhm, sorry but do you know there is some website compared Canon 24-70 f2.8 L with cheaper Sigma 24-70 f2.8 HSM? And surprised, lot of people favours Sigma 24-70 f2.8 HSM over Canon L lens. Anyway, as mentioned both is good lenses, and CZ is no doubt better in 'more' aspects than Tamron (more, not most)

both lenses are good, depends how u apply it.

one guy may choose tamron for its f2.8 while the other may choose cz1680 for optics, i think it really depends whether u know how to use it during low light, your ISO and shutter speed need to play a major part too, .. in case some dun know.

Agree, I personally am using Tamron 17-50 and feels night portrait has been less frustrating (already plagued by A200's focus hunt at night)!

BUT, I always hope I would have a better reach in terms of 50mm to 100mm, especially in terms of portraits (so that they look more natural)

THEN, comes the use of ISO and shutter speed in the case which will help to reduce the handicap of CZ1680's > 2/3 stop difference (as compared to tamron):)

Most importantly, control the machine, rather than having it to control/limit you ;)

Agree with u all, it all depends what u want to shoot... And the Body sensor play a part also

Most importantly, control the machine, rather than having it to control/limit you
---> agree 101% with u
