I just bought HOYA R72 IR filter and i have no success CWB for D90. I tried everything..green grass, sky, white paper..P mode..M mode and play the +/- at around 11.00 am with bright sunny sky and still getting the No Gd sign... Anyone can help?:(

Hi mikephilip, i think you need to set your preset WB without the IR filter mounted on your lens.

Cheers, and best of regards.

If you are using Nikon CaptureNX, try shooting raw and Post-setting the WB. You can use any reference point as your WB in CaptureNX. Here's how you do it:
  1. Choose any WB in your D90 (A, Tungsten, Daylight, etc) and shoot RAW (you can only change your WB in raw format)
  2. In captureNX click Camera Settings
  3. Under White Balance, choose Set Color Temperature, then choose Set Gray Point
  4. Click Start and notice how the mouse pointer turns into eye dropper
  5. Choose any WB reference on your photo by clicking on it (skin, foliage, sky, clouds, rocks, etc.)
  6. Now you can save it as JPG and do further processing in PS if you like...

Let me know if this works for you...;)

how did you do the CWB?
hahaha. u're giving me hope to use IR on my D90!

... WOAH...

You are almost there, but you'll need to play more with your photoshop's channel mixer and the hue/saturation control.

I like your "slow motion" clouds in your IR photogs.

Keep it up, and Cheers mate!
:)

care to share the website so that we can learn too ?

So for D90 users, we just need to purchase a IR Filter ? Price ?

Yupp.. HOYA IR filter would be just nice...try to find a second hand IR filter since it will be so frustrating to learn on D90 at first...price for used IR filter around RM120-RM150 here in M'sia..dunno' about S'pore.

Yes i care to share but give me time to learn the basic first...later will teach all D90 user here and boosting the IR filter sales again hehehe..or maybe somebody already found the answer...
