There is still plenty of room for improvement in the area of marketing, public
relation and salesmanship in our LBS. After forty years dealing with LBS,
I find that only those who know how to treat customers better will get
the business. Most of the shops do not have trained personnel to do sales
or know how to treat the customer well. :(

What type of tires and rims are you using for your new Insight 2.
As for the helmet, I feel "Prowell" is reasonably priced. You can get
it at Carrfur and some of the LBS for around $35 each. If you are around
TPayoh, go to Hin Leong Cycle.

I find LBS just the same as LCS. If customers not looking at top end models, they don't bother to even look at you

I'm using the stock parts
Rims: 20h frt / 24h rear Equation R17 Aero Doublewall w/ machined braking surface
Tires: Kenda Kwick Trax w/ puncture resistant K-shield 700x32c

Bro

Where did you get the Diamondback and how much did it cost you?

i didn't choose the F300 mainly because
1) the shop I went to check out F300 at didn't seem interested to sell me a bike
2) the shop I went to check out Insight 2 are helpful and friendly
3) F300 is using road wheels, which I think is not very suitable for the sometimes bumpy pavements and PCN

Haven't got a helmet yet, any ideas where can I get one at a cheaper price?

Previous Cycling Event

This was one that I led at Pulau Ubin.
To some of the riders it was their first experience riding
a bicycle at this island. It was a blessing as well as a
learning opportunity for them. To have this wonderful and
fun experience, it was really awsome!

You can see me standing on the extreme right with the
blue jersey, a red cap and carrying a camera bag over
my shoulder.

:)

Pete, if you can tell us the exact location of the place in Pierce Reservoir,
we may drop on Sunday morning while on our way enjoying the early
morning ride tomorrow.

What do you mean by "when I get my back"? Are you injured or something
else? Hope our group will be able to make a trip especially for you to join
us. ;):)

Sorry I meant get my bike, and anyway my back is kind of sore...

I had a chat with a friend who has a foldie, and I then searched for the IF Urban 700C. Not sure how much it is locally, but it is very nice.... USD 1800 SRP...
I don't like the small wheel type of foldie.

Will sleep on it first, since it is so much more expensive.

Where to get the IF Mode foldable in any of the LBS?

IFModefoldable_C.jpg

Just spoke to E-Walker, its about 3k ++....

Anyway, for 2k or so, any other foldies I should consider before I lay down my hard earned cash for the IF Urban?

Will be going later today to see this:

IF is truly a foldie in the sense that they can be pushed around when fold. If need bike to be folded for travelling and reputed to be genuine mountain biking, then Dahon has this model called "Flo". It is just as expensive. For folding with big wheels but affordable, I think Swiss Army, Montague paratrooper maybe the best choice. I don't know the actual cost. If you want to consider 20" foldie, can go to MyBikeShop in West Coast. Have a pretty good range or go to Chapter to Cycle nearer your home. C2C is at block 451 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. Here is the link for the type and their respective cost. Please note that this is the agent and they don't sell direct and usually you can get discount from their distributor, MBS or C2C. http://www.togoparts.com/shopping/newbikes.php?page_id=1&sortid=2&order=R&sid=131&keyword=

Congratulation Pete!, you've made a good choice, the IF Urban 700c is just
the right bike for you. When you do it up with all the racks and necessary
stuff, the bike is still fast. Now that you got the bike, perhaps you can
join us for a short ride, if we drop by Pierce during our ride tonight.

I was there earlier in the afternoon to try out the IF Mode. :)
