I'm on the normal 20km. Old liao, cannot cycle 40km or 50km liao. Leg will break man. :sweatsm:
The cycling jersey from the cycle pack is out of stock today. Was told either I will collect tomorrow or they will deliver latest by end of next week:angry: What a logistic screw up. Sigh, should have gone to collect on Friday.
Anyway, to those who are taking part in the OCBC Cycle 2010, see you there. Got to sleep liao, still need to wake up very early for the race.....

There were a few bottlenecks that caused all the cyclist to slow down and branched up. Plus a few stubborn cyclists who insisted on keeping to the right even when they were slower. Just got to be patient and stepped on the pedals once the road opened up again.
But there was an instance when 2 cyclists decided to cut out of the cycling lane on the right to get through a gap in the barricade, and nearly caused an accident behind them as all cyclists had to jam brake to avoid these idiots.
Still overall it was a pretty fun ride and I managed to finish in a much faster time than I expected.

The problem for the leisure rides is that there are a lot of people who have not done group rides, going for such large turnout events as their first group ride. Even like triathletes, I feel most of them don't have the roadie sense of pack riding, so end up with a large turnout with very very differing levels of capabilities.
me enjoy the 20km community ride. but sad to see so many accidents. maybe the organiser should conduct a 'cyclist highway code' workshop prior to the event.
The colour scheme for kids jersey looks good

I am interested to cycle in Singapore. Is there any stretch of road in Singapore that is long enough (not park connectors), safe enough (not much cars and lorries) and cycle friendly (not much people walking). I used to cycle from Bukit Timah to Lim Chu Kang but along the way has to compete with cars, cross traffic junctions, etc. The stretch of road along Lim Chu Kang cemetary is very shiok. Are there others similiar cycle tracks in Singapore?
Also how do you bring your SLR when you cycle?
And which is a good and cheap racing bike to get now?

I think the longest stretch of road is probably around Changi Coastal area. Triathletes use it for loops.
I will go bonkers doing anything more than 100km in Singapore (okay, not true, I have done regular 136km in Singapore). For that distance, it would be better to head to Kulai though. Don't go alone though.

So what's the use of buying a fanciful racing bike when you cannot race. Maybe a mountain bike will be good enough.

The analogy of this question in a photography forum would be the equivalent of "So what's the use of buying a fanciful DSLR when you are not shooting for competitions. Maybe a compact will be good enough.
If you can answer that, I will answer you why.
dont bring ur dslr.. when u are all sweaty , you wont even want to touch ur camera. :bsmilie:

Haha how did you do it? I had a big auntie-style basket in front of my MTB. Must have been a funny sight when it is paired with the pro-looking cycling gear most of us were in!

Hi guys, I'm now overseas and I came across the promotion of the OCBC bike, however, the page fails to load when I try to click on "purchase now".
I do not see any dates regarding the validity of the offer, can anyone enlightenment me if its over?
