concept is good. execution could be better with more practice. miss a little of the boat. sometimes i also make that mistake due to slow reaction and poor physical vision.

have you have and used a polariser on this photo and do you remember the direction of the sun? you can probably cut down further on the reflection and bring out the wealth below.

have you thought of including the branches to the right to make the whole thing shown?

it looks like a bear hybrid with a porcupine.

Sorry to my idol. My PC is spoilt. The component still not in yet (Sorry, my PSU is not easy to find. Esp for higher powered ones as it is smaller then std. size).

Once its online will post more. :sweatsm:

I climbed onto the top of the boat and took this photo...clinging onto the roof, scared that I get flunk off the boat...

dun say that. we learnt from each other. i already see jiven shooting better than me from her thailand to her local shots to her nepal and melbourne pics, so starting earlier doesn't always give an upper hand. maybe some time later, i would learn from lotus too.

besides, if you are upgrading, do consider a mac. my pc is still functional with mostly new components. in 2 years time, i would consider switching mac too.

Trees Trees and lots of Trees

composition wise, i think this is spot on.

exposure wise, if you know how to do post processing, can lightened the grass in the foreground. the exposure difference is that of a backlighting, hence in-camera you can't do much, can only post process.

by the way, check the river/sea behind, horizon is tilted.

oops...i din notice the horizon...erhh...how leh...but the trees are straight leh...how come leh?? :embrass:

Because the trees aint straight to begin with?

So when u ur photo is tilted, the crooked trees become straight. .

Maybe? Jus my guess. .:)

trees no need to be straight rite? and water will not tilt rite?

trust me. sometimes river banks or coast can be confusing, so is the sloped land horizon, or fisheye effect of water horizon. but for a non-bent horizon of water, it will not tilt.

without the water, i wouldn't fault the grass slope and the mountains going up the right. the mountain range can look unnatural with that tilt, but is acceptable. for the water, it is difficult though....

you can do two things.

1. distort to keep the trees in the same (with little change in angle) manner and correct the horizon

2. rotate free angle to correct the horizon ( i believe the trees will still look ok)
