how do u optimise firefox?
the last time i tried mouse gesture on firefox, it detects only half my mouse-strokes most of the time  wanna close a window becomes open new window
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
The above are basic settings
Other changes are found below
network.http.max-connections change to 40
network.http.max-connections-per-server change to 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server change to 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy change to 16
network.http.pipelining change to true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests change to 8
network.http.proxy.pipelining change to true
Btw, here are some hardcore settings.
network.http.max-connections change to 64
network.http.max-connections-per-server change to 21
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server change to 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy change to 16
network.http.pipelining change to true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests change to 200
network.http.proxy.pipelining change to true
Windows XP loads Firefox very slowly. You can speed this up by using Windows XP Prefetcher. Click with the right mouse button on the shortcut that you use to open Firefox. Click on Preferences. After Target you add the following text: /Prefetch:1.
Example:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1
