i like it alot
i have the 60gb version.

viewing angle is greatly improved compared to the prev models
battery life is not bad.. transfered 8 GB worthed of CF still going strong.. 2 GB transfer took roughly 13mins

contrary to what was written... the device actually is plug and play (no need the supplied program to handle the contents)

viewing pics speed is not so bad(unless the file size is huge).. can even zoom to see if its sharp..

:)

oh that's cool. really appreciate your input.
i went down to the Plaza Sing store just awhile ago..they're all sold out! Even the Marina Sq store is sold out!

not surprising..
i had a hard time trying to get the 60gb version..
maybe you should go to SLS(sim lim square) to try your luck there
:)

Now I'm in a delimma.

Zen Vision W or the Epson P2000?

do u want to use it to read raw files or not??

it's not necessary or a must have. i understand that the epson can read raw files.
actually, ive heard horror stories on the zen dying easily. :p
not sure abt the epson though.

epson p2000's screen is better than zen vision W
its fatter, heavier and not as intuitive than the vision
its also noiser and can feel the hardisk spins than the vision

not sure where you heard abt the zen dying easily
:)

Yeah, I know it's a lil fatter and heavier.
Hmm..didn't really notice the noise when I was trying a set out some time back.

Oh well, I have to go check out the Epson soon.
Price also plays a part lah. Heh.

wat about Vosonic VP8360 ? is it any good?

I'm not very impressed by it. Heh.

I tried the Epson one further today..it's too heavy and i can feel/hear the harddisk spinning in my hands. Don't really like that feeling. But I gotta say that the screen is super sharp. :)

yup the spinning and noise was wat i meant...
have u tried the zen?
its almost silent and cant really feel the spin..

:)

for $600 I get 120GB of data for song, photos and videos....though screen not as nice, but watching video is not my main purpose so I am okay with it. OEM batt is cheap, installing HD is easy, and support most of the raw files format.

I think both creative and Epson cannot match interms of price.

Wah..so fast coming out new one?
I was told by Epson Singapore that the P4000 will only be in our shores middle of next year..i think the 3000/5000 will take even longer!

True..but both the creatve and epson definately wins hands down in terms of quality.
Actually if you dun bother much about the video, it's definately a good buy.
For me, I would like to have nicer video quality..will make the long bus rides..train rides and plane rides more interesting. Heh.

Actually having a nice screen is not only for videos. You will enjoy your photos so much more when you view them on a nicer screen too. I mean, isnt that what you buy the device for in the first place? If you just want a device to transfer cards, you can probably get a Digimate casing and a reasonably big harddisk for $200 in total.

To me the screen for such viewing devices is very important. The epson p3000 will definitely be available in US much sooner than in S'pore. Probably cheaper there too. According to the Epson website, P3000 is available for US$499 (< S$800), which is quite reasonable for the cutting edge technology. Street prices may even be lower.

I hope they improve on the harddisk spinning sound and vibration.
I could feel it on the P2000. Doesn't feel right and good.
