Anyone using this? Is it good?

Where to buy and roughly how much a brand new one will cost ah? Does it come with warranty? Anyone interested to MO?

Seems like my thread on questions about a Canon product has been moved by Mods from Canon forum to here.

If the mods can move this thread back to Canon forum, then good and thanks.

If not, can mod pls help delete this thread as I see no point having my thread about Canon CP-E3 stuck in a consumer forum. Thanks mods.

Hello friend, long time no see.

I'm having a CP-E3 and mainly use it for events if i'm expected to shoot a lot on that day. General comment is it's small, compact and light even with the 8 batteries in it. Casing is make of plastic so it's definitely not as strong and Canon is also not giving any warranty for the item. As for usage, with total 12AA 2500mAh batteries (8 from CP-E3 and 4 from Flash) should normally last you more than 500 shots (depending on the power)

My feel is that if you are really doing a lot of events, than may be should invest and consider the quatum battery as it will be more robust and lasting. If you are only doing it once a while, then CP-E3 may be the option.

Cheers

A battery pack is good only if you need it. I can't help you define good in this sense. :D

yah...like wat espn said...it's good onli if you need it. price around 255sgd brand new. no warranty cause it's under accessories.

i will prefer CP-E2, much lighter and i feel that it is sufficient

Thanks for response guys. Ya, I need it cause I shooting events. Just thinking if CP-E3 is good enough for events and and is it good value compared to other battery packs. Anyways, I've got it liao.

Hmm, $255 each? If I do mass order for $220 each, wonder if people will want.

Good value? i beg to differ. i almost got one, but balked at the fact that it was really a $200 battery holder with a few wires inside. Remember that when you compare prices with the Quantum systems, the Quantum comes *with battery*.

That said, i have tried it and admit that it does serve its purpose. The flash recycles much faster (than by itself), and if don't want carry a lead-acid battery on your waist, or insist on AA batteries, this is just about the only way to go. Still, $200 for a piece of plastic... :(

It's not just a piece of plastic with wires in it. There is actually voltage step up within.

yes, read from a post long time ago that the voltage can be few hundreds volts, and the last thing i want is to have a flash explode right in front of your face. I will stick to original, at least if something goes wrong I will know who to blame.
