Courts selling NEX-5ND at $1299

From what I heard from some bros here, the two Cameras are for different purposes as they have different strength and weaknesses. Saw one bro provided a review link which states that nex5n low light is better than nex7n while nex7n better in some other stuff.
They are different beast. Nex7n is not suppose to replace the nex5n. Just like how nex5n is not meant to replace the nex3c. 3, 5 and 7 will be present for different people with different needs. Hence my guess is nex5n price will remain as it is until a newer nex5 series comes out. (like when nex5n came out to replace nex5)

I think my battery or charger spoilt. Charge 7hrs also no use. The orange light when plugged on lights up for 3 secs then off. Everytime insert battery also same. Can't use camera now. Bought form Harvey today. Tomorrow intend go back
Nope. 7 is not a replacement for 5N. Targeted at different market segments, so no dependency on pricing.
Just because a new S-class Merc comes out, doesn't mean the E-class will drop price, right?
Sounds like the charger is busted. Same thing happened to me once.
Ermm, dude, is your battery fully charged ? ...happened to me once when I got my batteries all mix up, inserted a fully charged battery and wonder why the orange charger light goes out after a few secs.
Just put the battery into the camera and check the battery level if its 100%.

Put into camera won't even switch on
i heard too many stories about shops at SLS... some of their tactics are:
- price quoted is for grey set.. thus no warranty or with shop warranty
- GST not included
- need to buy separately for local warranty..
would like to advise.. pls do not part with ur money until you have confirm the price regards on the above and check all the items are infront of you.. make sure warranty card is included..

Many yrs ago, I was at SLS looking for a DSLR. Had my eyes on the Olympus E-dunno which model liao and the salesmen quoted me $1099. I told him the Courts is having promotion at $999 with freebies thrown in and he immediately lowered his price to $899 with all the free stuff. Seeing that I can get a $100 discount, I proceeded to try the camera but was having 2nd thoughts as the camera user interface and focusing seems laggy in my opinion. I told the salesman that I need to consider and without 2nd thoughts, he offered me a new price of $799 with all the free stuff! $1099 to $799 within 15mins!!!
Just as I was contemplating if I should take the bait, two Filipino tourists stepped into the shop and requested to test the same camera that I was holding. When they were quoted $1099 but the salesman with all the free stuff, their reply was in consensus "Cheap cheap"! Without 2nd thoughts, one of them whipped out his credit card and bought the camera...
After both the tourists had left, I had a chat with the salesman and he told me that this is their way of doing business in SLS. Rental is high and they have to sell high to the foreigners in order to earn a decent profit. Singaporeans are always comparing and bargaining so unless they dun have a choice, they will always choose to entertain tourists rather than us. Our "carrot" is too small for them to spend efforts on... haha

Also check if the package comes with all the original standard accessories such as battery, straps etc; though the local warranty is the most important.
