Counter Question for my 300D*URGENT*

Can anyone please tell me if i can check the counter of my camera be checked at Funan? Or must i go down to harbourfront?

when i bought my 300D new (2 day of release in singapore) it didn't start at 0 either, (around 5000 or 800 I can't remember), I suspect the cameras all under calibration at canon before release thus the shutter count.

besides: must burn in test also what..

I also have two cf cards.

in one card, the number is at 580x right now., in another card it is 80x as well. so it seems I have two sets of running numbers and one day the 80x will hit 5000 and then I will have a numbering conflict with my old files..

No need to worry.
My new 10d counter starts from 5000+ also.
But it does ask me to set the clock & date when first operate.
When to check with canon service ctr (harbourfront), the guy there said its normal.
Some even start at 7000+, that what he told.
If you want you can left your 300d at the canon service ctr (harbourfront) overnight for them to extract you actual shutter counter number.

My 10D start from IMG_44**+ .

Hmmz...ok...,eaning to say that after i format, all the images shld start from IMG_0001?

Shutter count can only be checked by Canon at HabourFront and they charged $ for this service. It used to be free though. :(

probably due to too many panicky owners, or "by-the-way check for info" kinda people.

can't the russions come up with a software to do a dignostic and counter check??

Hmm, if i have to leave it overnight just to check counter, i guess i wont do it. I thought my CF card has been used, seems like i'm not the only case ;)

As for setting of time and date, it doesnt prompt me to but as i mentioned earlier, i've asked the shop assistant to on the camera for me, possible he skipped that step right? :)

Thanks for ya reply yeah?

Nic ah, last time u said they dun need to see warranty card or receipt, then what do you need to show them as proof of purchase?

actually..i nv bother about what name the file is one..as long as the pic is there, can already  :D

Ooh, ok..

My parents collected the lens for me today, ;)
