Coppersmith Barbet: Fledging of a Chick

Sad to hear the other chicks did not make it. RIP.

What a wonderful series of images, along with a story of life and (possibly) death.

Oh moderator, isn't this story in picture & prose worthy of a sticky?

As I type this (AM on 9 June 2014), intel is coming in - the feeding is still ongoing. Nest still active. All is well.

Guess you are talking about the first nest that most photographers and non photographers are aware. This morning I went there as well to have a look. Compared to the fledged chicks from another nest, this one still has a few more days to wait I think :) .The curiosity seems not very strong.

There are people saying one "male chick (as it is red)" had fledged this nest last week. Do you believe that :bsmilie:

Fai, Ted's pics is of a different nest. Not the "famous" nest. The tree is different, with different branches.
