Cos I just got my new flash at the camera workshop last month @about $135/-

i come across 580EXII selling at Plaza Singapura's Best $599. gave it a second look to confirm too!

Woah. Prices going down.

$599 was the price when I got mine last year.

Nothing compares to a 580EX II for canon and a SB-900/SB-800 for nikon. Other makes I dunno. ;p

Thanks alot for the update of the street price for 580EX II! I totally gave up on MSC liao, I even ask the 2nd time to confirm that I'm not hearing the wrong price but still that guy repeated $699... then when I asked about the BG for 7D, he initially wanted to quote me $285 until his colleague quote $235, which is still expensive! He thought I wear working shirt got such money to spare man. I'm only a poor man... :cry:

2nd to Ryan. Nothing comes close to 580EX II if you are referring to Canon Speedlites. Especially for nature photographers like me, where its weather sealed body is a must for me.

I drained two sets of eneloop batts recently for a dance competition event. :sweat:

Those batts are 3/4 full from my last shoot so not too bad for a 6-hour event. :bsmilie:

Talking abt batt pack I feel damn sad. I shorted the batt pack that I bought. Argh.. 80 bucks.. Nid to get new 1 again.. Haiz.. :cry:

No idea how it happened, just a random guess. But its not too bad after all, since its only the battery pack that's goner than having a dead 580EX II.

Gosh... That's quite bad. Though said, it's better to spend that $80 than to get yourself hurt from the shorting.

I forgot to off my 580EXII and insert the ext batt pack connector to my 580EXII. This will cause the batt pack to be shorted. Haiz.

the problem now is transport.

no more car for me, since coe went up twice, price is crazy for an opc. so i cancelled my bidding. ;(

it was a pain transporting the strobes on my small bike. seriously.
