Usually, hotels I dun take chance but have shot using the 35mm under low light before and I bet your 5D can handle. Just up the ISO and fill flash.

Your macro lens can do more than just portraits.

Hint: Shooting weddings are more than just faces.

50D body brand new = 1.4k +/-

18-55mm IS = 150 +/- off BnS

All the features on 550D are just marketing gimmicks. ISO performance, I'm still sticking to 50D to win. Unless they are looking for the video features, if not 50D.
