ok..will try it out when the sun is bright

No, don't do it in direct sunlight. Use diffused window light (can try some thin curtains, tracing paper etc to diffuse the light). Experiment. After all, it won't cost you a thing. :)

sorry...it won't work...even my Sony flat screen have 0.22 dot pitch...but after u take a photo of the slide...u will see all the dot pitch all over the slide.

i also tried add a tissue paper as diffuser...but u will see all the fibre of the tissue.

i tried with a thicker paper....put still the same...i can see all the dark/bright patches of the paper...

i think i need a proper diffuser...or a light box...

very well shot and innovative setup...been thinking of how to do this and almost buy the Nikon coolpix DC just for this....(but end up getting the film scanner instead..:))

by the way, all your shot done in 180mm ? enough for the eguna close shot w/o scaring the lizard away ?

Thanks :) that 180mm lens is a macro lens ..

I've tried digital converting of some of my old slides using my CP950 and Epson scanner film adpater as the light source.

Thanks megaweb for the illustrated setup info.

I did not made any special setting on the CP950, only set it to macro mode.

Here are the result.

Looks pretty decent. Will try this on my CP950 someday. Maybe the Nikon ES-E28 slide copying adaptor is a good accessory for copying negs and slides after all. :D
