i would prefer to use it without filter and any carry case, my purpose of buying a T3 is for the easy to keep & bring anywhere feature.

Thanks guys, I'll have to check up on these items :-)

But you have to remember to compensate for the filter factor by the appropriate number of stops as metering is not through the lens. I used the T3 with the filter adpater, UV filter and the 30.5mm TVS lens snap on cap. Kept them in the CC-82 semi hard case and slung it around my shoulder with a W-25 wide strap instead of the leather strap that comes with the case. It isn't necessary, but having easy access is a real boon. A bit of an overkill, but it sure does feel good and looks cool. :bsmilie:

Bro, how much you bought your W-25 wide strap???
I agree it looks really cool esp the Black T3 (mine is a silver one, anyone wanna exchange wif me??? :sticktong ) !

Geez the semi hard case seems very unwieldy... guess I'll just skip the case and run the camera without a filter.

Thanks guys!

Yeah lo, the case looks a little too Ah-Pek liao!!! :sticktong

I always thought that Ah Pek cases for rangefinders or compact PnS always looked better than those for SLRs. I swear by this combo. Even after 2 years of moderate use, my T3 looked like new, no scratches or bright marks.

XXX Boy, I got the strap off eBay a long time ago, when the frequency of sale for such accessories were much more. Thnk it added up to SGD20 odd .

dun worry,u can offset by adding the exposure compensation up to 2 stops.

Used to have one,it rocks!

Sheesh! Why don't you use a slightly more neutral "motto"?

Hi all!
Minor update, since I was the one that started this thread. Well I couldn't find a T3 or T2 (affordably) but I happened to come across this nifty camera called the Ricoh GR1. 28mm/F2.8 lens.

My shooting style been largely dependant on fixed lens rangefinders: with 40-45mm focal lengths, so this 28mm offers me a very different perspective on life. Very very compact, I now carry it on me with Ilford XP2 Super with +0.5EV compensation. Metering for slides is simply amazing, IMO much better then my Contax G1. Oh well, I got 3 nice compositions today, hopefully when developed they will turn out ok :-)

Personally I had own a Ricoh GR1s before, and had bad experience wif it! It fails me for less than 6 mths!!! I bought new and it is still like tat.
Maybe I got a lemon...but now I really scare of buying Ricoh compact cameras...not trusted them anymore...
Just my feeling, hope you have fun with the new camera! :)

XXX Boy,
You said T3 is the best PS in term of image quality, how good is it compared to canon ef35mm f2?? any info on this?
I tried the 35 f2,though now is sold.
I tried Nikon 35Ti used set, lose to EF35,looking at Leica minilux but even a used one cost >1K.
Anyone p/s advise. :)

Well the GR1 I got is very very old and very very well worn (plastic melted, paint flaking off etc), but as long it works it'll be ok. Speaking of spoiling, my Sony F717 just died yesterday. Crap digital asses. Already had 2 digitals fail on me. And my Minolta 7S is still ticking, and without batteries somemore haha :-)

I could say that Contax T3's 35mm f2.8 Sonnar is comparable with lens from the SLR system.
Some of the image taken by me with the Contax T3 can be found here...

I have used Canon lenses before, and I feel that the Contax colours are a lot better. Can't comment on the sharpness of the 35mm/f2 though, but I can vouch for the sharpness of the T3 lens.

Thanks for info,I sometimes really sick of carrying a bag with SLR,but rather wish to just carry a small pouch with a compact.
And I do not like Dicam though its small anyway.
However since I started 6 yrs ago with SLR,never tried any good compact at all.No experience on any compact.
Just tried/bought a nikon Ti35,but gave to brother after first roll test, cos image not too good compared to canon L zoom or prime 35mm.
Now looking for a good compact 35mm to 50mm,but should be similar image quality to canon L zoom 28-70 or something like 35 f2 or 50 f1.8,though may not be like L prime of course.
P/s advise further in detail. :)

I could say that Contax T3 are capable of producing image as good or not better than any SLR system out there. Best of all, it is so small and compact that I can even bring it out wif me all day long without feeling tired.
It is what the best your money can buy!
Dun just take my words for it, pls refer to http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=72929 to see it for yourself! :)
