BTW what is WRT? anyway mine is an comment on your statement. I never took it as a question.

Sure, Chairman of EDB can be given a 5 years bonus, but i think it would be up to the Board of directors to decide on that. I am sure no one of any position can just decide whatever size of bonus he want to get a year, base on his own.

wrt = with regards to , sorry abt that. Exactly my point , it's time they (Board of directors) do some soul-searching and reviewing , as this is public money involved , if you ask me , I wouldn't know abt his bonus package , if it's not on the papers.

Yeah from Donors. Personally, i think he has done quite a good job by bringing more awareness to the society about this need ppl have. And people have donate based on this awareness.

NKF is a charitable body, but like i said he did not give up his wants and needs as a person. He is employed by NKF to do a job, which he would be paid for.

Over $20K in pay, annum pay $0.5m.

Everyone got needs and wants. Maybe he wants the new Mercedes AMG. Wants a collection of L lens or a D2x and a 1DsMkII.

But frm the public's blood money? He gotta be more sensitive den dat man. His pay can be reduced significantly and yet live his needs and wants like any other normal person out there yet providing more care for kidney (and more recently, cancer) paitents.

I support u, but show me some returns ok? Maybe 30% out of ur earnings would be good since its a business investment. :)

Simple enough , would Mother Theresa be getting a 12 month bonus, despite her noble effort ? Dun flame me yet , just an example in support for jsbn statement.

I got this from the NKF's site :-

"We have set up an independent Audit Committee to provide advice on enhancing existing cost-effective measures and implement new ones. The NKFS is the first and only charity in Singapore to set up such a committee, although charities in Singapore are not required to do so.

Finance Committee

We have instituted an independent Finance Committee comprising experts from the financial services sector to provide sound financial advice, oversee all major financial decisions and evaluate investment alternatives. "

And http://www.nkfs.org/finance%20data.htm is their Financial summery.

I think this is more than what a charitable organization would have done.

Mother Theresa gave up on having monetary stuffs. She is different from that CEO. She is quite noble.

yes, all public listed cos has audit committees and other committees. citiraya, informatics, enron, etc has such committees too. why then did misconduct of varying scale goes undetected until it was too late? having committees in place guarantee nothing. so, do not accept them with full faith. i hope the above 'live' examples are sufficient to convince you.

An extract from the ST

Davinder Singh : $1.8 million , I wonder what is wrong. $1.8 million. Should the man who takes $50 out of his pay packet of $1000, leaving $950 for him, his wife and his children, with no savings, should he not know that some of the money is going or has gone into a $500,000 to $600,000 pay package for you ?

MR DURAI : Surely he knows. (My foot !! still has the cheek to say that !! If he knew, he would've throw the money in HIS face !;( )

Yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite ;(

I am not flaming you but this is a bad example. She is doing it out of her own will while the other person is paid to run an organisation. We need to be objective about this. By comparing a Saint with this person you are bringing her down.

Results, Results, Results, that's all that matters to the patients and their loved ones. Yes, I know about the KDF, and I respect the dedication and selflessness of the staff in that organisation. However, when you get to a certain scale, that business model falls down. If you want to be an organisation that supports thousands of dialyses a month, you need a certain hard-nosed business attitude, which is what the NKF has. The problem is that in the "charity" busines, it rubs people the wrong way.

I won't stop donating, but after today's reports, I'm writing a strong letter to that organisation for sure.
